Terms of Use

Welcome to SendSecure. By accessing or using this service, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use SendSecure.

1. Purpose of the Service

SendSecure provides a privacy-focused platform for sharing encrypted messages and files that automatically delete after viewing or expiry. The service is designed for lawful, ethical, and responsible use.

2. User Responsibility

• You are solely responsible for the content you encrypt, upload, or share using SendSecure.
• You agree not to use the service to transmit or store content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, malicious, or infringes upon the rights of others.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your password and securely communicating it to the intended recipient.
• Lost passwords cannot be recovered. If a password is forgotten, the encrypted data becomes permanently inaccessible.

3. Security and Encryption

SendSecure uses strong, modern client-side cryptography:

• All encryption and decryption occur entirely within your browser using the WebCrypto API.
• Messages and files are encrypted using AES-GCM with 256-bit keys.
• Encryption keys are derived from your password using Argon2id, a memory-hard key derivation function designed to resist brute-force, GPU, and ASIC-based attacks.
• SendSecure never receives, stores, or has access to your password or plaintext data.

While industry best practices are used, no system can guarantee absolute security. You acknowledge that use of SendSecure is at your own risk.

4. Temporary Data Storage

• Encrypted messages and files are stored temporarily on SendSecure servers.
• Encrypted content is permanently deleted after:
  • a successful decryption, or
  • expiration of the selected validity period (1–7 days).
• SendSecure does not retain plaintext content, passwords, or user identity data.

5. Availability and Service Changes

SendSecure is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. The service may be updated, modified, limited, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SendSecure and its developer(s) shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages, losses, or liabilities arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. This includes (but is not limited to) data loss, failed decryption, unauthorized access, or service interruption.

7. No Warranties

SendSecure is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Modifications to These Terms

These Terms of Use may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of SendSecure after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
